The Korea Medical Pedicure Association (KMPA), led by President Choi Kyung, announced on April 17 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sujeong University (President Yang Young-hee) to foster the development of the medical foot care industry and enhance vocational education.
This strategic partnership responds to the rising demand for specialized skills in problem foot management and medical pedicure, aligning educational outcomes with industry requirements. By marrying practical training with industry expertise, this initiative seeks to systematically cultivate talent proficient in hands-on application.
The agreement outlines collaboration across several operational areas including industry-commissioned education, on-site training and internships, joint research and technological development, technical issue resolution, career guidance, global talent cultivation, and community contribution programs. This multifaceted approach aims not only to enhance educational offerings but also to establish a solid institutional framework for the medical foot care industry.
President Choi emphasized the significance of the agreement, stating, “This MOU will serve as a pivotal point in enhancing the professionalism and credibility of the medical pedicure industry.” He noted that utilizing clinical case studies and technical data for educational content development will lead to a standardized approach to real-world training and research.
Professors Jo Ah-rang and Seo Jeong-suk from Sujeong University’s Beauty Art Department voiced that this MOU marks a strategic step toward professional talent development and industry standardization. They foresee the convergence of healthcare and beauty opening new avenues in the medical foot care sector while providing students with wider career choices.
Effective from the date of signing, this agreement will remain in effect for three years unless terminated. Throughout this period, both institutions will focus on strengthening the competitiveness of Korea’s medical foot care industry and establishing educational and technological standards applicable on a global scale.
The KMPA comprises medical professionals and aspiring healthcare workers, collaborating nationally with hospitals to spearhead the convergence of healthcare and beauty. Its commitment to clinical-based training, technological research, and academic activities positions it as a pioneering institution in the systematic advancement of industry standards and professional competency.
This collaboration is set to enhance the professionalism and trustworthiness of the medical foot care industry while providing future professionals with expanded opportunities through an integrated education-industry approach.
